Food & Sustainability 

The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the UN (FAO) reports that 690million people are chronically hungry, 2billion people suffer from micronutrient deficiency, 1/3 of adults obese or overweight, and 30% food waste. As the population grows, food production must increase, contributing to 20% of green-house-gases (GHGs) The food system also emits 34% of global GHGs, drives biodiversity loss, and creates negative environmental health outcomes.

According to the FAO's report in 2019 on the State of Food and Agriculture, 14% of of world's good is lost after it is harvested and before it reaches super markets. At the same time, the UNEP Food Waste Index Report, after food reaches super markets and our kitchens, 17% of our food ends up being wasted.
